Competency matrix related to Covid-19: contributions from students and residents

Abstract: Introduction: Competency-based education has been discussed under the new perspective of COVID-19 pandemic. The need for social distancing had effects on student activities and educational institutions needed to reflect redesign teaching-learning process. It was necessary incorporate contents related into medical training programs adapt teaching tools. Therefore, it is that be mediated by a collective construction competency matrix with participation subjects involved in Objective: This project aims present reconstruction curriculum cardiology observing collaboration students residents. Method: Exploratory study, involving 13 undergraduate eight residents from institution’s program, who comprised “Students residents’ panel”. Consensus reached among panelists through Delphi methodology. first version prepared research team sent, together FICF, containing 16 items aimed at content achieved internship residency. participants attributed their degree agreement each proposed item after returning them, data were tabulated, stored an Excel spreadsheet percentages calculated presented descriptive manner. Result: panel consisted 19 participants. Of 21 invited, 02 did not answer online questionnaire excluded. initial consensus round, lowest rate being 71% 89.5% residency matrix. Both matrices showed high levels agreement. There no disagreements or suggestions Conclusion: engagement pedagogical process may contribute better understanding competencies bring sustainable changes curriculum.
